You know New Super Marisa Land, right? So it should obvious that it is, in fact, an Super Mario Bros. clone since I was the one recommend it to you. But do you see anyone bitching about it saying "Oh! It's a Mario rip-off"? No I don't. Heard of Beyond Good & Evil? Guess what game was behind that one? How about Kamui and Terra Diver? Take a guess of what game they were influenced by. Also take a look at all of those FPS games that uses the "duck for cover until your shield recharges" from the Halo series. And don't you dare get me started on all of the Ikaruga clones there...

The point is, a LOT of those are bound to have similar gameplay mechanics, be it a sequel from the original developers, or a completely different title from a completely different development team using similar elements of said game. Daisuke Amaya, the one man who is behind the original Cave Story PC game, he paid homage to games like Castlevania, Metroid, and even Zelda since he played those games from his childhood days and he wanted people to remember those days of classic gaming. So if RKS being a Mega Man clone is a problem with you, than maybe you should ask them to make an h-game just for you.

P.S.
If you want to know about an "unfair" section of a game is, go play Castlevania: Order of Ecclessia on Lv. 1 Hard Mode ON A CLEAN SAVE FILE without dying once, then you can reserve the right to claim how unfair RKS is.ViperAcidZXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08847866845233140922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233445061965139570.post-2044541095064563702010-12-13T12:37:34.011-05:002010-12-13T12:37:34.011-05:00Something tells me that if RKSF keeps getting dela...Something tells me that if RKSF keeps getting delayed too much it might never be released before the end of 2012 because people say the world might end at that time...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233445061965139570.post-74236369906108448852010-12-12T03:57:42.470-05:002010-12-12T03:57:42.470-05:00I don't know about you guys, but I think Isemi...I don't know about you guys, but I think Isemiya and WOMI should consider recruiting some team members for the project. Going with what the latest anon stated. G...@Viper:

Going with what the latest anon stated. Games like Darkwing Duck, Magical Doropie, and Megamari, while styled after Mega Man's gameplay (even having the first developed by Capcom themselves), they still introduce a grand number of original stuff on their own (Now bear in mind, RKS does this too, but not much).

Darkwing Duck and Magical Doropie both break away from the Mega Man formula by having all attacks deal the same, or similar damage each time they or a projectile strike(s) you, and a more linear style of gameplay (going through each stage in order, rather than choosing from a list of eight, then going into two castles at the end.) New weapons are not awarded from defeating a boss, but rather appearing a pickups (DD) or everything given to you at the start (MD).

MegaMari features all-original (or semi-original) characters and enemies. Everyone has their own skin that is not based on or copied from another source, plus original enemy and boss attack patterns (Darkwing Duck and Magical Doropie do this as well). MegaMari also allows you to control two different characters and switch between them in the game, and adds the twist of "Figuring out which weapon to get."Justin De Luciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07314461141921880109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233445061965139570.post-31112546747319555722010-11-18T01:13:18.080-05:002010-11-18T01:13:18.080-05:00@ViperAcidZX

Crescent Pale Mist is one of those ...@Killing_Doll:
Crescent Pale Mist is one of those "you may / may not like it" and "depends on who you are" type of games. I'm playing the original PC version of the game and it is very difficult. The enemies and bosses (spoiler: Soray at Stage 5 is a major butt-ache) can be a pain to deal with, and the platforming elements in some areas is a bit on the hardcore side (like launching an enemy into the air > Rowanveld PM to send it higher > teleport dagger to the enemy > use the enemy as a stepping stone in mid-air > dash forward in mid-air > Rowanveld in mid-air to increase your air time increase your airtime) and you can get lost in certain areas of the game that I ended up consult to a video for help *cough*Stage 3!*cought*.

On the upside: if you someone who's into hunting for items (stuff you can use on Hard mode and higher), vicious bosses (believe me, this game has them), danmaku / bullet hell, and a few extra stuff without minding the difficultly and frustration level too much, could be a decent be a decent game.

Aside for the English translations, the PS3 (which I have not played but seen videos of it) has lots of cosmetic changes, from to the character portraits (Keiko Sakurai re-worked the character design for the PS3 version), to the menus, and some of the stages look different from original PC game. And the PS3 version is only $5.99, which is pretty cheap for a budget title.ViperAcidZXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08847866845233140922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233445061965139570.post-69130279313686339262010-11-17T23:54:06.635-05:002010-11-17T23:54:06.635-05:00Here's the thing, Justin: there has been other...Here's the thing, Justin: there has been other Mega Man look looks alikes out there even before Rosenkreuzstilette has showed up (rather these games have big or little similarities to Capcom's fabled Blue Bomber) and yet they don't seem to mind them that much (or at least not heard of them, well the doujins games based on Mega Man, actually). The only Mega Man-esque game that ever got a cease-and-desist by Capcom to my knowledge was a PC doujin game called Rockmen R: Dr. Wily no Gyakushuu by Capricorn. Maybe if [erka:es] became a little more creative (such as entirely original enemy designs that behaved drastically different from Mega Man's enemies, bosses included, and the core gameplay was adjusted drastically to further separate the similarities that RKS has with Mega Man), then we'd probably see the Rosenkreuzstilette series become just as popular as ZUN's Touhou Project. RKS does have a lot of potential in it's current state (with the key characters, settings, plot, and so on), but with how things are doing with the similarly-looking sequel, I'm starting to lose some hope in that project as well.

It would be nice if Isemiya and WOMI could keep us, the fans, occupied with official artwork (including maybe concept sketches), gameplay footage, previews, fansite/press kit downloads, updated versions of their demos with more levels playable, and a better chance to actually communicate, one-on-one, with both Isemiya and/or WOMI with them actually replying back, it would defiantly satisfy the wait. But because WOMI's current main career seems to be doing H-doujin mostly featuring his idol Clair Lasbard, he doesn't seem to (from my perspective) have much interest in the RKS series.Justin De Luciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07314461141921880109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8233445061965139570.post-2060715177009669142010-11-13T04:06:03.825-05:002010-11-13T04:06:03.825-05:00The concept itself of RKS probably isn't a pro...The concept itself of RKS probably isn't a problem (we(ve seen clones of others games so many times...).

But it uses the base engine of Megaman, so there would be some copyright issues (Errr, it feels like I'm speaking like a lawyer !
