Freudenstachel Secrets
As ViperAcidZX pointed out in the last post's comments section, the password system has not been updated for Freudenstachel's demo, so old passwords will still work.
Discoveries:
- Dolis Warmind provides a new weapon that probably acts similarly to Remilia Scarlet's weapon for Alice, Bloody Curse, in MegaMari: Marisa no Yabou. It is an aerial projectile attack, but its flight path is currently unknown. Because it has no sprite, the attack is currently invisible.
- Dolis's weapon has no effect on any of the bosses.
- Use of any blank weapon will deplete all weapon energy from every weapon you have except for Freudenstachel and Weissteufel.
- Freudenzwinger completely devastates the Astaroth mid-boss in Grolla's stage.
- So far, there is no evidence of a substitute for Eins or Zwei.
- The image portraits for the blank weapons are slightly different from the ones with names. Most notably is that Freudia's image is improved from the blank prototypes.
- Story Mode passwords still work, and it even labels replays accordingly, but there's no dialogue to be had.
- Entering the Iris Palace password will still take you there, though everything will be blank. However, you will still hear the Iris Capsule, and if you wait, you will enter an empty Golden Palace stage.
If we find anything else, you'll hear it here first.

Seems interesting.
ReplyDeleteZwinger works well to complete the stages, but is no longer effective against Grolla...
ReplyDeleteAlso, every "new" weapon depletes its energy when you try to use it. It's just for fun, then.
Actually Doli's weapon does have some sort of functionality as I've had enemies randomly die after I use it in front of me, and in some cases in front and downwards a bit.
ReplyDeleteWhich leads me to believe it behaves like Concrete Man's Concrete Shot from Mega Man 9. It just seems the sprites for the weapon have not been added.
But does that really make sense considering what the graphic looks like and the fact that her weapon is the Fesselspirale, which is a giant shuriken?
ReplyDeleteDolis holds the power of the "Shackle Vortex" Fesselspirale. Using it, she gather wind power from the objects around her and uses it to throw her large shuriken-like boomerang. It arcs in a fashion normally impossible.
In testing it, it couldn't possibly work like the Concrete Shot, because it can hit targets across large gaps with a slight delay, leading me to believe it is a projectile with a specified flight path. However, until I can actually identify how it works, I'll assume it's similar to Bloody Curse.
Hmm I didn't notice that it could clear large gaps, so maybe you're right.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think comparing it to Doli's weapon is a good way to think about it as the weapon you get from Zorne really doesn't have anything to do with her attacks.

ReplyDeleteThis is a good point, as Freu seems to just learn new moves instead of copying the moves of her enemies like Spiritia. However, in Dolis's case, we do have a sprite graphic to go by, so that's something.
as Freu seems to just learn new moves instead of copying the moves of her enemies like Spiritia.
ReplyDeleteHm... If that's the case, then I'm thinking they are planning to insert some boomerang-type attack, but then again, I could be wrong.
In my opinion, Freu's new attacks are her powers crossed with the opponents' powers. The one from Zorne is bomb-like. From Sichte, Freu uses time manipulation. Grolla's is less obvious, but I think of it as the cross-screen slashes Grolla uses in Desperate.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't duplicates of the other girls' powers, but they aren't just random powers, either.
I agree with you, Billion.
ReplyDeleteSo what does this Bloody Curse do?
ReplyDeleteAlso... if the weapon is behaving like an invisible projectile, might it be possible to play with the game data to attach a graphic to it? Make it visible? I mean, I can only assume that it has a sprite, just a blank one.
So what does this Bloody Curse do?
ReplyDeleteA quick trip to RPM, and I find this info, which should answer your question.
"This throws out a cross-shaped boomerang that stays on the firing point and then returns to Alice. It spins very fast, deals lots of hits and damage and can be aimed at 8 different directions, which makes it extremely useful. Unless it bounces off the enemy, it can really rack up damage."

That could be possible with the recompession tool. Letty might be able to figure it out, since he has it.
I think there's to Dolis' weapon for Freudia, based on a little experiment I did with it. I would like to ahow you what I found about it, but I can't right at this moment since my brother's home to prevent me from using the ONLY computer I can use in my frickin' house. =_=
ReplyDeleteI'll send a .rpy of it whenever I can. And by the way for those who don't already know this, Alice's Bloody Curse in Megamari is based on Shadow Man's Shadow Blade and Metal Man's Metal Blade, though it looks like Axel the Red's Spike Ball.

ReplyDeleteHmm. this is very interesting. I'm cannot wait to see the result.
I've been messing with Dolis's weapon quite a bit, and I still can't figure it out, because it seems to act very inconsistently. I cannot tell where exactly the flight path is, because with the experimenting I did, I concluded that it may depend on multiple factors. For example, when fighting Astaroth, sometimes, it would provide two hits at the same time, one high and one low. Sometimes, it would not. Sometimes, when fighting one of those snake-producing enemies, I would just send a shot out, and enemies would just jump into it and die while I stood there doing nothing. I can't make heads or tails of it.
ReplyDeleteAs for the sprite, there isn't one at all, not even a blank one, and if I wanted to put something in, I would handle to decompile the original source code, and I'm really not about to work on something like that.
For now, we'll simply have to wait, unless someone else decides they want to figure it out.
So, it's like a random-path flying attack ?
ReplyDeleteWhen you think about it, it just seems uncompleted, I barely see a random-based weapon in the final game: maybe the final version would have nothing to do with the behavior of this "invisiblement boomerang"...
Bloody Curse is the very weapon I never pick up in Megamari: Red Magic is thousands more effective, especially against Yukari-sama >_>
Nearly instant kills any ennemy, is multidirectionnal...
Give Freu-chan some Red magic instead, for god's sake T_T
Why would you use Red Magic against Yukari when Force Crisis is much more effective?
ReplyDeleteI'm experimenting with it as we speak.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to behave consistently for me, though I can't figure out its exact trajectory either.
It seems to have a wide spread; it can hit both above and below Freu, and its range seems to "fan out" the further from her it gets. It pretty much always hits when shot at point blank range, but it can't hit above or below Freu unless she's a bit further away from her target. It doesn't seem to travel in a straight line, though. It also doesn't reliably hit enemies in Freu's line of sight the further away they are.
It seems to move slower the further it gets from Freu, as well. It can stay on screen for a surprisingly long time-- if it ever seemed like it hit an enemy twice, it was probably because an old shot was still hanging around.
Also, it seems to be stopped by walls; it can't hit any of the boxed-in Fire Plants in Zorne's stage. Though it seems to be able to travel around some obstructions, though I haven't worked out how.
As a side note, Sichte is immune to it, and it rips right through weaker enemies like the fireballs without stopping.
I'll continue to experiment...
Incidentally... did anyone notice the voice clip that plays when you use Freuden Zwinger now? That... doesn't sound like Freu's voice. Or am I mistaken?
It doesn't seem to travel in a straight line, though.
ReplyDeleteThat's just it. It does sometimes. Go to the room with the staircase and the snake enemy thing right after the Astaroth mid-boss in Grolla's stage. You can literally shoot it from across the room, and sometimes, it'll stop about halfway and sometimes, it'll shoot straight through, destroying snakes in its path and eventually hitting the green box they come out of. I can't figure it out.
Well, yes, it can hit things in your line of sight... but whether or not it does seems to depend on how far away you are. Which is why I said it didn't travel in a straight line.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to wonder if it might inscribe a giant circle in front of Freu. Or perhaps a spiral?
ReplyDeleteI dunno, but I'm tired now, so I'm gonna sleep on it for the moment.
Is it me, or something's wrong with the link to the fanart contest's rules and details on the blog?
ReplyDeleteFixed it.
ReplyDeleteJust to let you guys know, Kiora completed Page 8 of Tearis.
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling justin. I will check out the page 8
ReplyDeleteEr justin, I can't find where the page 8 is. Could u provide a link?
ReplyDeleteHere's the link, credits to Kiora ^_^

Letty> That's because I prefer collecting Black Lotus... Force Crisis aims quite strangely T_T
@Killing_Doll:
ReplyDeleteThe shot comes from behind Alice, so it works better as a anti-air weapon than a ground weapon. The shot come down at a diagonal path from above, so figuring how to use it to make it useful. Black Lotus is easier to use, but its weaker than Force Crisis. Think of it as Spiritia's charged Grollschwert attack from the sky.
Here's something else i noticed from using the old passwords into Freudenstachel. As I was cycling through one of the weapons in the game, there was another weapon where Freudia's sprite reminded the same as she would with Freudenstachel. My guess is that it that weapon could be Strudel...
