I've been meaning to do something about this for quite a while, so here it is. Again, if you don't want spoilers, I would suggest not watching this, though it's nothing really spectacular. More information is in the video description.
Hahahah. Viper, that was hilarious, seeing the characters act so out-of-character.
Justin, the images are taken from the ending staff roll. Just decompress the graphics/ed.dat file to get them. Nothing big. I'll likely be releasing my decompression tool to the public once the translation patch is finished.
I was thinking that the prologue stage boss could be a giant monster terrorizing the place, just like each Megaman game's prologue boss is a giant robot attacking the place.
Viper, if you were talking about the typo in Rosenkreuzstilette, it's still there (you transposed the 'e' and 'u': "RosenkruezStilette").
Justin, I'd like to, but I've got a very bad feeling that you're going to make me regret my decision by making more of those (pardon my bluntness) incredibly bad mashups. If you can promise me that you won't do that, then sure, I can upload them for you and the others since they're not too big.
By the way, the F12 key automatically saves screenshots of the game in a subfolder, so if you're really impatient, you can just button-mash during the staff roll to get the images yourself.
On a related note, do replay files let you rewatch the endings? Playtesting Grollschwert is going to be HELL if they don't...
Screw it, I'm not changing my deviation again... -_-
@TDOMMX: Saddly no, they cut the ending and credits after you defeat Iris... They should of allowed the endings and credits to be played in the replays... =_=
Relax, Justin. I can feel your burning passion for RKS. Just keep in mind that, contrary to the stereotype, I don't spend my every waking hour in front of my PC.
Just to clarify (and I mean no offense by this), there's a considerable difference between "good" and "so bad it's good". I'm not fond of the latter, which is why, for instance, I don't like the original dub for Symphony of the Night (or anything posted on AudioAtrocities.com, for that matter). I think your art style falls squarely into that category. I'll respect yours and your classmates' opinions, but I don't personally think the mashups are very good.
In any case, I'm true to my word. You can download the graphics here: http://www.miraigamer.net/rks/rks_ed.rar.
Crud... I don't want to have to replay Grolla's mode umpteen times just to fix dialogue issues in the epilogue... I barely made it in one piece the first time around...
TDO, I had to take some screenshots for a friend of mine who was going to make an RKS sprite comic (and quit on it) and got tired of all the dying so I used a program called Tsearch and gave myself infinate hp. If you do that then it'll at least go quicker.
If you do programming then you'd know 100x more about it than I would, but I think there's no honour loss in cheating since you're using it for work.
To give you an better idea of my skill level: I can get through the trial version, beginning to end, in 16 minutes. I'm pretty decent with Grolla (for comparison, I can finish the final stage of Megaman X4 as Zero without needing a tank). However, playing through four stages of ridiculously unbalanced fights as Grolla is not something I look forward to.
I actually played Mega Man X4 without getting any Life Tanks. And I was able to beat Sigma with using Sub-Tanks either, though fighting Iris with a character who takes twice the damage is where I fail at. >_>
Hmmm... Tsearch is a little more complicated to use than I expected. I'll probably figure it out, but not right now since I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.
If memory serves, my brother spent hours trying to beat Sigma as Zero with full tanks and kept failing, whereas he breezed through the game as X the first time around. Considering that, up until the turn of the millennium, he was far better at action games than I was (and the fact that most reviews at the time pegged Zero's game as considerably harder than X's), I'm having a hard time taking your statement at face value, Letty.
Anyway, I thought the comparison was valid since Black Zero both inflicts and receives double damage (in X5 and X6, anyway).
I don't consider Iris that much of a big deal on you know how she fights, but getting to her with decent health is a pain since Tia usually drains my health with her extra life tank.
Wouldn't using Tsearch to give you infinite HP cause a glitch in the scene after beating Sepperin as Tia where Tia's health is down to one pellet when Iris attacks her (which could be prevented via infinite HP code)? That may be most likely.
Meh. I'll take that as a roundabout way of saying my brother sucks (not that I care much either way). I'm pretty decent at sidescrollers, but can't for the life of me finish MegaMari. It doesn't help that Game Over in that game robs you of all your tanks...
I don't recall there being an equivalent of a Vile battle in RKS, so I doubt having infinite HP would be a big deal (the story scene would automatically set HP = 1). Considering the fact that Tsearch works best with numbers, I think I'll just give myself 99 tanks and replenish the supply if I need them (or accidentally grab a real tank). I highly doubt that'll be necessary.
Actually you don't need data files manipulation to play the prologue stage. You just need a memory alteration program like Cheat Engine or Tsearch. Just find the address 00627ED8 and lock it to 1, then start any of the stage and you'll end up in the prologue.
You can also do this to play Schwer's stage by setting the value to 9, but you need to include the RKS data files into RKS:FS before.
Glad to be of service. I think they have 28hp if you need to go infinate, look for that number, get hit, search for "decreased" and wash rinse repeat until you've narrowed it down.
It won't save you from spikes or pits tho.
Yeah, I too find using Grolla much harder than using Zero. It's likely just because Zera has a lot more moves by the time you get to that hellish Iris battle. That thing's the toughest battle in any megaman game for me.
Hey everyone, the RKS Uploader is still up and running, though it has change but its still usable. I've uploaded a rar file on the site already. You need to make a password for each download. The password for "RKS Glitches" is "omega" (lower-cased). - http://u4.getuploader.com/rks/
I've tried opening up the file, but every time I try to do it, a message pops up saying that it's invalid/corrupted. A little help here would be nice...
I wonder if you guys would like to take a look at this (drew it myself):

Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm however, interested in the blog's bckground image. Where did you get separate images if the characters!?!
Letty is magic, Justin.
ReplyDeleteHahahah. Viper, that was hilarious, seeing the characters act so out-of-character.

TDOMMX,
ReplyDeleteIs there any way to get them online? Where are the images?
BTW: id did some more RKS artwork: http://superjustinbros.deviantart.com/gallery/#Rosenkreuzstilette
I deleted the old one 'cuz I made an error. So here's the new one:
ReplyDelete- http://amethystviper.deviantart.com/art/AToM-01-Rainy-Days-121128354
I saw the vid on Youtube before the news here... I wondered what kind of character should be te boss of this stage. Dolis ?
ReplyDeleteFunny artworks, guys ! :-D
TDOMMX,
ReplyDeletePlz, I REALLY want the images! Can you just post them online!?!

TDOMMX: I won't do any more bad mashups. I just want the art!
ReplyDeleteBTW, It's NOT a bad mashup. Many people in my high-school said it ROCKS.
P.S. I can't decompress the graphics/ed.dat file. My computer is so slow it won't let me.
waiting...

Hey, thanks. That'll make my life MUCH easier.

Dragnfly, I shall use this tool with gratitude.
Oh come on. X4 with Zero is easy.
ReplyDeleteI actually played Mega Man X4 without getting any Life Tanks. And I was able to beat Sigma with using Sub-Tanks either, though fighting Iris with a character who takes twice the damage is where I fail at. >_>

>Oh come on. X4 with Zero is easy.
ReplyDeleteYup. I constantly fail at RKS, yet easily beat X4 as Zero. It wasn't that hard.
Wouldn't using Tsearch to give you infinite HP cause a glitch in the scene after beating Sepperin as Tia where Tia's health is down to one pellet when Iris attacks her (which could be prevented via infinite HP code)? That may be most likely.

I tried it, and using Tsearch for infinite HP doesn't makes any glitch after Sepperin's stage 4...
ReplyDeleteYou can use it with no fear.
Shalt the might of Tsearch save thee. X_X
I meant to say "WithOUT sub-tanks" in my last comment. >_>
ReplyDeleteZero kind of breaks everything, which is strange considering how hard it is to fight with Grolla. Then again, I do suck at Megaman games.
