Kampfer is the worst show.

I got a kick out of this.

  1. An Rosenkreuzstilette reference in an anime? Sweet. :)

  2. It's not an RKS reference. I just thought it was humorous in that "this is a stretch, but hey, there's Grolla" kind of way.

  3. I think I can understand the concept.

    "Gewehr" "Schwert"
    "Grolla" "Schwert"
    "Grollschwert"

What she says, when the first word is re-arranged slightly and combined with Schwert.
Plus the woman bears a slight resemblance to Grolla. (the eyes and hair)

  4. Is that really what the subs say? IMO Gewehr is from SeeleGewehr, Spiritia's weapon. Schwert is GrollSchwert, Grolla's weapon. Of course, if online translations are correct, gewehr means rifle and schwert is sword so it might makes sense in context.

  5. Indeed no relation whatsoever to RKS, it's just random german.

  6. myep, it's just common german for rifle and sword, but it's still funny ;P

  7. I just want to know why they were left untranslated like that.

  8. To stick with the Geman-flavored text of the anime?

  9. Well I wouldn't have known that, given that I've never heard of this show.

  10. It`s funny that they aren`t even holding an rifle and sword, instead it`s an gun and some chain-thingy..

I guess every weapon of an "Kämpfer" is called an Schwert or Gewehr...

Hooray, for Japanese screwing with german words!

  11. I thought gewehr just meant "gun", anyway.
