  2. ...Wait a minute...

Fraudenstachel? Methinks WOMI should be informed about this possible typo...

    1. Yep. Sorry about the delay; I really haven't been feeling well lately.

  4. Finally! It seems like I have a lot of great stuff to look forward to this Fall.

I can't wait to see Spiritis's involvement in the game, too.

I was thinking recently, why is Freudia called that? All the characters' names have something to do with their personality, but Freudia isn't very joyous at all.

And why freudenstachel? Wouldn't Eiszapfen make more sense? As it is, Freudenstachel means something like "joy spike".

The German word for frozen sounds nothing like the word for joy.

    1. Notice that Freu is typically quite happy in Tia's presence. Tia is what makes her Ice Queen's heart melt, so to speak.

"Freudenstachel" means "the Sting of Joy", an intentionally multi-layered phrasing that can mean "the pain joy can inflict" and "the pain Freu inflicts", among others. It never had anything to do with ice or snow to begin with (in the same way that Klageharnisch had nothing to do with water).

  6. Sweet! I can't wait for this game... XD

And, interestingly, I want to know whether or not Iris will be in this. If she is, then I wonder what her involvement could be...

  7. The only thing I'd like to ask by now, is if the RKS Decoder will be updated to support Freudenstachel once it's released.

    2. Bah. For some reason, my reply to Viper's comment got pinned here.

In any event, Mint's comment is harshly-worded, but nonetheless accurate. Check your inbox for the full shebang.

  8. I still find it hard to believe I found out about RKS 5 years ago and after what seems forever, the wait will soon be over. Please don't pull a Duke Nukem Forever on us WOMI!

  9. Well, I didn't hear about RKS until August 2008 when I came across an image that came from a video.

  10. I found out about RKS I believe in either July or August of 2008.

  11. I am so hype you cannot begin to comprehend the amount of hype I am.

Though I'm curious how is this going down retail release in a few specialty shops in Japan or a digital release?

  12. Finally! It will be released soon.

  13. Doll-chan on report ! At last ! ^_^'

The DL copy will be released the same day, right ? I'll totally buy it on day one, now that's what I call impatience.

  14. Looks like Womi fixed the typo for the art.

  15. There was a small second update added to the page yesterday. Seems he added purchase details to the product page.

Not that I can really make any of this out.

    1. Physical copies of the game will be available at Melonbooks and Toranoana on October 20, retailing at 1,575 yen, taxes included (~$20.25 USD). On the same day, a digital version of the game will be available via DLsite.

For those of you who speak Japanese, Melonbooks is taking preorders here.

    2. Any ways to import the retail (physical) release when it comes out (and if there's any copies left by the time I can actually buy it)? And speaking of Japanese, I'm trying to learn the language myself, although it's more like learning how to speak and understand it rather than reading it as of writing. So far, my Japanese still sucks...

    3. I speculate that RKSF will be available in retail form at Winter Comiket, that is, unless WOMI is not attending. Considering all the hype and buildup RKSF's been given after all these years, I bet WOMI won't miss out.

    4. I was looking into importing physical copies of the game myself, as well as the original game. From what I've heard it isn't too rare. There are deputy services that provide importing from Japan for a small fee. This particular website: "http://otakuagency.com/steps.html" might be a safe bet towards obtaining one.

    5. I will speak to a friend of mine in Japan and see if I can get him to help provide a service to get us copies of this game.

    6. This would be appreciated.

  16. um, one more question is that, do we, or i have to pay for the game?

    1. If you really enjoy the games and are a fan of the series, then I'd strongly encourage you to support WOMI by acquiring a legal copy.

    2. i don't have enough money T_T.besides if i had, i don't know how to buy this game in VN.

  17. @TDOMMX Hey I just check Melonbooks. They can only take orders in Japan only. Guess we have to wait for some other ways to get the game

  18. Seems we got a new blog update showing a picture of a profile of the boss and her stage. For this instance, Luste's profile has been posted today.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. about the picture,
i definitely have a huge feeling that
Luste's stage, similar to an Airboy, would have wind that pushes the player onward by the stage itself; like the one from Tengu Man's place.

it's not much of a big deal.
but i'm just getting hyped of the difficulties from the game.

      Delete
    2. I assume these are samples and buying the full game gets you the full res images of everyone's profile art. With that said, I probably would have made Luste's stage take place during a sunset with everything in an orange hue; and the structures themselves become cracked as time passed between the first two games. Here at first glance it looks just like the original with a different layout.

      Delete
    3. @anon mention the RKS profiles: LUSTE-CHAN GOT A PROFILE?! TELL IF THERE'S A HI-RES VERSION THAT I CAN ACTUALLY READ FROM?! *w*

      Delete
    4. I'd suggest waiting till the full game releases; as I say this very well may be only a teaser image.

  23. where do you guys found the pictures?? i have no idea.

  24. Long time since I posted here, saw the info on SaSa's group, just 9 days to go then !
And I'm currently in Germany, fun thing that Womi releases the game at this moment. Perfekt für das Ambiente, sehr gute !

  25. Just one week left !! m_m
And no more delays announced for the moment ?

@ Toni> Nii-san, received my email ? Do you buy the game on DLsite and lend it to me next week-end ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. ...Ummm, how do you "lend" a digital copy? Either that message wasn't very well thought-out, or someone's not-so-subtly discussing piracy on our turf...

Remember that Melonbooks and Toranoana are the ones with the physical copies, not DLsite (protip: the "DL" stands for "DownLoad").

    ReplyDelete
  27. You've read me wrong I think, MMX, just asking my brother if he could download LEGALLY the game (aka buying it) and then leave me his laptop (with RKSF of course) for a while, as he has two of them.

Can't buy it myself as I have not credit card >_<' that is why. Sorry for the misunderstanding. And physical copies will not be shiped to Europe, I think T_T

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ah, alrighty. I didn't know that you and Toni were actual brothers ("nii-san" and the like can never be taken literally). Still, in that case, wouldn't you be borrowing his computer and not the game itself? I mean, it's not like you're borrowing Windows every time you log onto a PC...

Depending on how things roll, I'll either be buying my copy through Mint's friend in Japan or I'll order it off of PaletWeb. Naturally, I'll be snagging a copy of the DLsite version as well; it's just a matter of when.

Oh, and I prefer TDO as the abbreviation to my handle, not MMX (X on its own is pretty cool, but that nick is reserved for my pal X-Calibar ^_^).

  28. Hello all,

Okayyy that's a slight misunderstanding of intentions I think, from the beginning. I had some chat with Letty some time ago about an old post in Hongfire, when I was supposed to "promote piracy" and it might false the debate.

At this time it wasn't possible to get the game, and it's right that I got it on HF, before being one of the few people to buy the game online when we were granted the opportunity. It's no matter of money at all. I'm glad that RKSF will be available this week on legal download for that I'm NOT at all someone who admits piracy. I could send some photos of the actual number of games I bought, for that purpose...

Yes we're actually brother and sister, I think she mentionned it before ? I'm the one mostly responsible for the "nii san"'s way of talking or the Touhou fandom, as I'm a Japan enthusiast !

TDO> I think that's what she said on the last post, lending the laptop itself. That's what I planned to do, I can use my company's one on free time too. So don't worry we were thinking the same thing, sorry mate.

    KD> Sure thing then ;)
Je prends quelque jours de congé la semaine prochaine, comme prévu.
    来週お会いしましょ :)

  29. WOMI updated the devblog now showing off retail copies of ~Freudenstachel~, disc and everything. It'd be killer if there was a printed instruction manual inside, but there wouldn't really be much need since a help file is in the disc anyways.

I'm going to stick with buying the digital release, just to keep things going simple on my end. Though I'm sure many are drooling over a physical copy of RKSF.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Another update from WOMI, possibly a final notification of the game's release tomorrow. I saw Youtube and Nico Nico mentioned, perhaps trailers will be going up?

    ReplyDelete
  31. In addition to that update Justin posted about another update was posted (by the way it's the 20th in Japan it'll probably be out soon) where he states, well I think he states anyways about a bug report that passwords after Grolla seem to be bugged and it'll be patched out in the first patch.

  32. ITS OUT.

    REJOYCE, EVERYONE.

(should be going up on DLsite any minute now)

    1. RKSF is now available on DLsite. Sadly I can't get the game yet, but the second I can, it's going into my hard drive ASAP.

I'm going to hold off on opinions of RKSF until I actually play a good amount of it.

  33. It's out on DLsite now go on and get it guys!

  34. Heh WOMI finally had the sense to change the encryption of his .dat files so much for ripping the music release day.

Oh well no sense in focusing on that when I have a game to play so excited.
