We present to you this portion of the near-finalized Spiritia script. This showcase features the prologue stage and the 8 bosses, as seen from the RKS Trial Extended Preview patch. Please enjoy.
The Sichte-thing implies mostly that Grolla is quite a knightly character who seems to have some connection to Sichte. weather it's friendship or the usual relationship of such knight characters to respected female characters is entirely open to intrepetation >:)
Justin: As I've said before, I'll likely be posting the data decompressor online once the full version is out the door. You'll just need to decompress talk.dat to get them.
By the way, you need to download and install WinRAR to be able to decompress the RAR files. I figured that was self-explanatory since the RAR format isn't new by any stretch of the imagination... Alternatively, download the uncompressed version from the MegaUpload mirror.
Macha: Well, thank you. Feel free to suggest alternative phrasings. Though Letty said this was the "finalized" script, I don't consider it final until I've packaged it and sent it out the door. In fact, I've been tweaking the prologue script a little since the videos were posted.
shadow: Sichte is the commanding officer of RKS. Thus, she is Grolla's superior. Being so formal, Grolla addresses her as Lady Sichte and Milady, as the situation warrants. They are still friends, but kind of in the same way as Snake and Colonel Campbell, post-MGS1, or Parn and King Kashue in Record of Lodoss War.
Anonymous: Debugging the Game Over messages was a real pain, especially considering they're just one-liners. I actually use Tsearch so that I have a "suicide" button and don't need to waste time killing myself off. Too bad these don't apply simply to dying against the boss in question. Note that each form of the Big Bosses in the fortress stages has its own GO. This makes the Boss Rush stage a nightmare to debug...
When both my RKS and my RKSF trial get to the title screen, not too long afterwards, BOOM they suddenly shut down quick without warning. Any idea on how to fix that?
Anonymous: That's definitely a font loading issue. The original font is stored in the EXE in katakana. If you don't have Japanese support enabled, the font won't load properly, so the game will crash the first time it needs to be displayed (ie: the menu descriptions in the bottom right corner on the title screen). I have fixed this issue in the English version. In fact, with the exception of the debug log, every string in the EXE is in English (the log is lengthy and useless to anyone except [erka:es], so I left it in Japanese for their sake).
Justin: If SecureZip extracts the files correctly, go ahead and use it. But, if not, download WinRAR instead since that's what I used to compress the installer. I've verified the uploads and included the CRC information, so be sure that the files downloaded properly before trying to extract 'em. I've gotten a few error reports that turned out to be corrupted downloads...
Actually, foreign language support is enabled via your operating system, not through RKS itself:
For Windows XP, go to Control Panels and open the Regional and Language Options panel. On the Languages tab, make sure the second option (Install files for East Asian Languages) is enabled. On the Advanced tab, select Japanese from the dropdown. Click OK once that's done. You may be asked to insert your XP disc if the language files aren't already on your computer, so be sure to have it handy just in case.
Odds are the East Asian Languages checkbox got unchecked or one of the relevant files got corrupted somehow. How exactly, I have no way of knowing.
As for the unabridged soundtrack, I'll probably be taking care of that at around the same time as the user-friendly version of the decompression tool. Please be patient on that front.
At the moment, Letty and I are tied up with the Grollschwert script editing. That, and I'm going over the Tia scripts with a fine-toothed comb to make sure all the breaks and pauses are in the right places. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure we can have everything ready by July 1st, and I'm handling things at a very brisk pace (roughly 4 stages a day, all variations included). Once the editing is done, I still have the insertion and debugging to do, plus romanizing / correcting the staff roll and fixing a couple of graphics here and there. And that's just my end; the beta team can't even get started until I'm done with this... If by any chance we don't meet the deadline that Letty set, please bear with us.

I get it now. Now that I think about it, I think my RKS lost its Japanese support just a few days or weeks ago...
